Whether we are talking about casual users or people who use computers in their line of work on a daily basis, there’s a good chance most of us rely on remote storage environments for keeping personal or important files safe and always within reach.
With that in mind, and considering the large number of cloud storage solutions currently on the market, it’s somewhat easy to see why some users might need a more streamlined way of accessing them.
One particularly interesting solution comes in the form of NetDrive, an easy-to-use, yet very efficient application that allows just about any user to connect to remote storage services in a hassle-free fashion. What’s more, it also provides them with the option to manage FTP, WebDAV, and NAS servers as virtual drives, as well as connect to the ubiquitous Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, OpenStack, and Amazon Web Services servers.
All users need to do is install the app on their desktop devices and provide the required login information, as all their cloud storage services will appear as virtual drives. Of course, users can fully configure and manage multiple remote storage instances by changing their names, IPs and URLs, and information about ports, server type, and the designated drive letter.
Another great advantage is the fact that the program provides various mounting options. For example, users can choose so that their drives are mounted automatically during the system boot time without requiring login.
For such a seemingly user-friendly app, NetDrive does offer a surprising number of useful, secondary features. The app’s background uploading feature is particularly good, as it can help users save a lot of time with what might otherwise be a fairly tedious process.
Because security is one of the major concerns when dealing with remote and cloud solutions, NetDrive also provides its users with a secure file transfer protocol. Unlike the standard FTP (File Transfer Protocol), NetDrive’s Secure File Transfer Protocol encrypts all the data, including the login information.
There’s really not much we can reproach to NetDrive. It’s easy to install, it works well, and it looks rather decently on modern versions of Windows. The greatest advantage, though, is the fact that it’s so versatile as it allows all types of users, from beginners to more advanced, to effortlessly manage multiple cloud storage services as virtual drives.
