BitTorrent Acceleration Tool
If you're an avid BitTorrent user and you wish to boost download and upload speed as much as possible, then you should have a look at BitTorrent Acceleration Tool.
Especially designed to work with this particular client, BitTorrent Acceleration Tool provides a rather simple interface that requires minimum configuration and help the app serve its purpose quickly.
The main window for example only prompts the user to pick the network interface connected to the Internet, while BitTorrent Acceleration Tool takes care of the rest of the job. There's an intuitively-called “Accelerate” button too, while the bottom of the window is being used for statistics.
For example, it shows the type of Internet connection you're currently using, the status, sent and received bytes and acceleration duration, with a separate graph to let you keep an eye on transfer speed.
If you're curious how it works, you can't find much information on this topic, as BitTorrent Acceleration Tool doesn't include a help file.
One of the things you must pay attention to is the installation, as the application also attempts to drop a third-party toolbar on your computer, while also trying to change the default homepage and search engine in your browser.
BitTorrent Acceleration Tool has a minimum footprint on hardware resources and although it's supposed to run all the time, it remains light without hampering computer performance.
It works okay on all Windows versions, but it still needs some improvements in many key areas. Although we haven't experienced major speed boosts during our tests, a help file is mandatory to explain users the way the app attempts to optimize the connection.
