A simple-to-use Firefox add-on that helps users download video and audio files from various websites, such as YouTube, Metacafe, Dailymotion, or Vimeo
NetVideoHunter is a lightweight Windows application that helps users download video and audio files from the Internet.
This is a handy Firefox add-on that simplifies the downloading process, as it allows you to grab Flash videos and MP3 files from various video-sharing websites, such as YouTube, Metacafe, Dailymotion, or Vimeo, and other websites as well, namely Facebook, Break, or DivShare.
NetVideoHunter gives you the possibility to preview the videos and audio files before downloading them, thanks to its built-in media player. Plus, it offers support for a full screen mode and video smoothing options.
What’s more, the application enables users to download YouTube videos by selecting one of the video qualities available.
Other important features worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to specify the saving directory or make the program ask where to save the files each time you want to download a new item, select the icon’s position (status bar, toolbar, or context menu), and remove videos from the list.
Last but not least, you create a list with websites to be ignored and enable the capturing mode of SWF files.
During our testing we have noticed that the tool carries out a task quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
All things considered, NetVideoHunter offers a simple software solution when it comes to grabbing files from the Internet. It can be easily installed and configured by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.

What's New in This Release:
- It includes these fixes:
- Fix for YouTube
- Fix for the "Ignore sites" settings in the Options. Ignoring a website can be useful when some site is filling up the list with useless small chunks of videos.
- Added limit to the list to make sure it will not eat a lot of memory when it's filled up. (The oldest video from the bottom of the list gets removed if there is 1000 video in the list)
