Sidebar Google Mail will help you monitor your Gmail account from the Firefox sidebar. Wherever you’ve got an unread e-mail, you get to see a red envelope on top of your page, otherwise, you get to see a green envelope.

By clicking the envelope image or by pressing ALT+G, you open/close a Google Mail client on your sidebar. Surprise: if you close the sidebar, you may re-open it without logging-in again!
