ADIF Master is a tiny and portable software application which enables you to open HAM radio logbooks to study information and transfer logs between different logging programs. It comes loaded with several options and configuration parameters that should be easy to figure out.
No installation necessary
As there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch the tool. Another possibility is to save ADIF Master to a pen drive or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important factor worth taking into account is that it does not modify Windows registry settings or create additional files on the disk without your permission, thus leaving it clean after removal.
Simple interface and options
The GUI is user-friendly, represented by a normal window with a plain and simple structure, where you can import log files using the file browser or drag-and-drop support, as long as they have the CBR, BIN or DAT format.
Edit data and configure settings
It is possible add or replace serial numbers, insert columns and rows, combine and duplicate columns, use a search function, configure bands and modes, save and reset the window position, use lowercase and a type indicator, skip the verification of required tags, customize the UI colors, and so on. These options can be restored to their factory values.
Evaluation and conclusion
No error dialogs were shown in our testing, and the tool did not hang or crash. It has a good response time to commands and works well, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error messages.
All in all, ADIF Master provides a comfortable environment and user-friendly tools for viewing, editing and converting Cabrillo, TR and CT logs into ADIF format.
