    EDITOR'S RATING

Softpedia Editor's Review for PCShow Buzz

This application will allow you to view news, music channels, sports, film channels from all over the world

Written by Elena Opris on December 1st, 2011

PCShow Buzz is a software that enables you to play radio and TV channels from all over the world. It does not require any hardware or additional software.

The tool is very simple to install, and its interface is easy to navigate through, whether you are a power user or have no previous experience.

PCShow Buzz has a channels explorer, ribbon bar and toolbar. In Channels Explorer, you can select all channels, channels according to country or genre, your channel history, or you can create a favorites list.

In the ribbon bar you can view the channel which is currently playing, or the list of channels (station name, genre, status, bandwidth), schedule a channel (i.e. create your own personalized broadcast), search for channels (by name, description , genre, country, station type, language), or configure options.

In Options you can enable PCShow Buzz to start on Windows startup, start with Channels Explorer, to always be on top of other windows, stay hidden when it starts, prompt you before playing a scheduled channel, hide the mouse pointer when playing a channel, and prompt you before switching media.

In the toolbar, you can load PureRadio (it needs to be separately installed), bookmark the current channel, switch to full screen mode, and adjust volume. Plus, you can zoom in and out the image, as well as move forward and back (frame by frame; this cannot be done by using the keyboard).

Unfortunately, the trial version allows you to view only 2 minutes of a TV channel (PCShow Buzz records this time even if you pause the video). Also, few channels are available, and some of them do not even work. We were able to see flash games, mostly. The image and sound quality is great, in most cases, and the program uses a moderate amount of system resources.

In conclusion, PCShow Buzz is very easy to handle by any user. Too bad the trial limitations are so strict, because we cannot tell if most channels actually work. Furthermore, you need to install a third-party software in order to listen to radio.
