PPMate is a tool designed to help you watch online television, offering a pretty straightforward interface to help you in this regard.
The application provides a reasonable amount of TV stations, organized in multiple categories depending on the content they stream. You can't however access channels for a specific country, although the developer has also included a search tool to help you find a certain station faster.
You will be able to enjoy live sports, music, radio, education and other TV stations, all accessible via a simple interface that may seem a bit unprofessional at a closer look. The font doesn't seem to be the best choice at all, while the colors make some of the menus pretty difficult to read.
Please note that you need Windows Media Player to view online TV channels. Some of the links seem to be dead, while others work rather slowly in spite of a high-speed Internet connection.
On the upside, PPMate boasts a favorites section, which means you can save your favorite TV stations, as well as a so-called “Recent Watch” section to access the recently played channels. Another useful feature of the application is the recording utility which allows you to record a certain TV program and save the content on your local disks.
Of course, PPMate runs on a moderate amount of computer resources and although it works smooth on all Windows versions, an Internet connection is mandatory in order to use it.
All in all, PPMate carries out the same job as other similar programs. Some of the TV stations do not work anymore, while others load very slowly even on fast computers with stable Internet connections.
