Abot News Reader is a very simple application that lets you read online newspapers from all over the world, providing a basic interface to guide you all the time.
Although you may be tempted to believe that this is actually a RSS reader, it's not, as Abot News Reader comes with a large database of online newspapers and magazines from every part of the globe that can be accessed via its very own interface.
The biggest problem is that the application doesn't allow you to delete or add new sources, so you're stuck with the built-in ones.
Everything's pretty basic within Abot News Reader, so the program can very well be considered a simple browser with tons of favorites to let you read the news.
It boasts not only newspapers and magazines from the United States, but also from the rest of the world, with the ones you access on a regular basis being automatically placed in the “My Favorites” section.
The interface is more or less customizable because Abot News Reader comes with skin support and 3 built-in themes. While you can switch to any of the three, there's no option to add or download new ones from the Internet, so again you're stuck with the standard package.
As always, you need an Internet connection to use Abot News Reader because it takes the whole content from the online versions of each included publication. It runs on low computer resources, so there's no need to worry that you're not able to run it.
All in all, you may be disappointed with Abot News Reader, that's for sure. It's more like a web browser full of bookmarks.
