PageNest is an application that will help you download web pages and sites to your hard disk. It provides you with an easy way to manage and browse the downloaded sites.
PageNest finds files on the target site by downloading HTML pages and searching them for links to other pages and files. This means that, even if you only want say graphics files from a site, PageNest must also download the HTML pages in order to find the links to the files. It also means that PageNest can't find files which aren't linked to by other files on the site.
Once all the files on the site have been downloaded PageNest 'parses' the files and replaces any links with links to the newly downloaded files. This means that you can browse the downloaded sites using any browser and you can even copy them to a removeable drive or CD-R to save disk space or view them on another machine.

Multi-threaded downloading:
· Downloading one file at a time is slow. PageNest can download up to forty files at the same time. The number of threads can be adjusted dynamically whilst downloading to make the optimal use of your internet connection.
Superfast HTML, CSS and JavaScript processing:
· Offline Browsers work by extracting links from files, then rewriting the files to point to the downloaded information. PageNest uses a specially written processing engine written with one purpose in mind: speed. It handles links within HTML, CSS and JavaScript (both within HTML files and in external files).
Download any file type:
· These days a file on the internet can have many types - html, shtml, asp, php, aspx etc. And these files can be text or graphics, or indeed anything. PageNest uses clever technology so it can download any file and correctly convert it to an approriate type for your computer. And this technology will still work with new file types created in the future.
Preserve the sites folder structure:
· PageNest preserves the structure for the site exactly as it was on the original website. This makes it easier to find your way around the downloaded files, especially if you want to edit and re-upload the site.
Pause and resume downloads:
· PageNest can pause a large download and later resume where it left off.
Built in browser:
· PageNest can show downloaded sites with it's built in browser (using Microsoft Internet Explorer technology) or open them in your own default browser.
Two click downloading:
· Click Add Site, type in the site address and click Download. If you want to use the sensible defaults that's all there is to it. Or the Site Wizard makes it easy to go through and tweak all the available options, if you prefer.
Site management features:
· PageNest stores your sites in a list of Categories, similar to the display of folders in Windows Explorer. Drag and drop sites to move them around, right click for a number of options. There's also an option to open the downloaded sites in Windows Explorer for easy editing/exporation.
Easy navigation of downloaded sites:
· In addition to the site management features described above PageNests main page shows a list of recent downloads. Click a site to view it. Next Site and Prev Site buttons give a quick way to move between downloaded sites.
Download multiple sites at once:
· No need to wait for one site to complete before starting another download. Downloading threads are automatically allocated to whichever site needs them.
Tested for Windows Vista:
· PageNest has been tested and shown to work faultlessly under Windows Vista. It also works on Windows 98/Me/2000 and XP.
Automatic connection and disconnection (dial up users only):
· PageNest can minimise your time online by dialing your chosen ISP and disconnecting afterwards. Ideal for scheduled downloads (Pro edition only).
Authentication (logging in):
· PageNest will automatically log in to virtually any site which requires a username and password, whether the site uses HTTP or forms based log in. You login details can either be stored, or, for security, it can ask you for them each time you download.
Advanced Range settings:
· Tell PageNest whether it should download files from other servers, and if so how deep to look on other servers.
Include/exclude by file type:
· Specify whether you want to download files such as multimedia and image.
Specify Minimum/maximum file sizes:
· Use these options to, for example, exclude thumbnail images or large executables.
Filters:
· Provides advanced selection of what to download based on server names, paths, filenames, query string, mime type etc.
Timed downloading:
· Schedule a one off download of a site (eg at night when call charges are low) or set a site to automatically udpdate at regular intervals.
Download without making changes to code:
· This is ideal for webmasters who need to edit a site but don't have the FTP username and password. The site is downloaded without making any changes to the code, and leaving it ready for editing and re-upload. (Note that the original code of dynamically generated pages cannot be downloaded).
Download a list of URLs (addresses):
· PageNest Pro can download a list of URLs within a single project. URLs can be entered directly into the application, or can be read from a text file. The URLs can be all within one domain (web site) or spread over multiple domains. More
