VisitPC 5.16

VisitPC is a small, Java-based utility specially designed to offer you remote desktop access over the Internet.

Remote computer access, single click for desktop access, VNC compatibility, file transfer, encryption and port forwarding is also possible.

· If in createDistributableJarFiles we call checkServerNotOnLocalSubnet() then if we have a dest client PC on a local subnet where the server name is an IP address it could work, but this will stop it working. This caused an exception to be thrown in the startup manager from the updateWindowsFiles()
· method and as it was silently thrown this caused no error messages to be displayed and so was hard to debug. The result of this is that if the user configures the server name incorrectly then the client will fail to connect to the server.
· When the VisitPC vnc dest client was started from the service manager it would sometimes shutdown.
· We used to wait for the user to close the window here and then exit, but in some situations when the visitpc vnc dest client software was executed from the startup manager the VNC server was not running at time that the VisitPC vnc dest client was started. Therefore the dest client would shutdown. Because of this we now just warn the useerr that no VNC serve...
