Magic DB Explorer description
ADO based database explorer for all databases
Magic DB Explorer is ADO based database explorer, which provides user friendly function for viewing database information, viewing and editing database data and manipulation with these data. User can easily organize your database connections and save your SQL commands for fast reuse in tree view.
The main idea of user interface is to provide all functions and options accessible directly without redundant option screens (except for editor and syntax parser options). This is enabled through popup menus, keyboard shortcuts and checkboxes. Application screen is split to two parts.
On the left side the program shows tables, views, procedures and functions. In application user can see table columns, indexes and table relations. In native supported databases are also shown check constraints, triggers, procedure or function body, view definition and if available some other table information such as creation date, columns count, rows count and lock mode. On the right side of application screen user can write SQL commands such as DELETE, SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT and also CREATE PROCEDURE, FUNCTION, TABLE and others as well.
Commands can be executed either together or separately and asynchronously as well. Result of "SELECT" command is showed in tab sheet, where user can add and remove it. If more SQL "SELECT" commands are executed together, results can be automatically showed in separated tab sheets. Every tab sheet has the same function, resulted data can be edited, sorted, filtered, saved, reloaded and exported to other databases.
Data can be also loaded from XML or ADTG files and then exported to database. All executed commands are remembered in commands history, and of course syntax is highlighted. For faster typing of SQL commands user can use predefined keyboard shortcuts with Alt key, for example Alt+S places word ”SELECT ” at cursor position.
