TYPSoft FTP Server is a very easy to use FTP server that needs minimal configuration and works on most Windows versions.

The application has a very clean and intuitive interface, with two different sections displayed in the main window, “Main” and “User Info”, both supposed to help you keep an eye on the FTP server.

While the “Main” screen is mostly a log file showing all types of information concerning your newly-configured server, the “User Info” tab provides details about every single connected username, along with IP, connected and idle time, transfer time and time left.

Just like it's the case of every FTP server out there, TYPSoft FTP Server prompts you to configure users, FTP and IP access before anything else, so it's recommended to pay attention to every single step.

The “User Setup” screen enables you to configure user accounts with specific rules and permissions, so you can allow download, upload, delete and rename files and directories, specify the available folders and set up passwords.

The FTP configuration menu on the other hand is the one that's more important because it gives you the power to configure the port you wish to use, but also the maximum number of users to connect to your server. Plus, you can specify the IP for passive mode and even a port range, just to make sure there are no connectivity issues.

Of course, the “IP Access” dialog is especially designed for blocking and allowing some user defined IPs, providing full control over the computers that may access your data.

As you can see, TYPSoft FTP Server is pretty easy to use, despite the fact that it boasts so many configuration tools. The application pretty much works with the standard settings, but it's still a better idea to have a look in there too.
