· The graph tab in the MySpeed tabs shows how the connection speed varied during the download test, the higher the download speed, the better, but a good connection will also demonstrate very little fluctuation in download speeds. The graph also displays the TCP gaps, which is the time delay between data packets. A good connection will have a low TCP gap and demonstrate very little fluctuation in the TCP gap values.

· Socket-to-socket testing provides the most accurate speed tests available particularly on high speed networks of 100Mbit or more. The difference in accuracy levels is due to a difference in the levels of the OSI model where they operate. A direct socket-to-socket connection uses TCP which works at the lower transport layer. A HTTP connection uses a browser which works at the application layer and is subject to factors such as browser caches and proxies that can affect results.
