Snippets Generator

Dedicated to software developers, Snippets Generator is an application that gives you the possibility to generate T-SQL snippets for SQL Server 2012. It supports templates and carries out tasks in no time.

The tool's not wrapped in a setup package, so you can save the downloaded .exe file to a custom directory on the disk or copy it to a removable storage unit to run it on any PC directly.

It doesn't add new entries to your system registry or create files on the disk without your permission. Just keep in mind that .NET Framework must be installed.

As far as the GUI is concerned, Snippets Generator opts for a large window with a simple design and neatly organized structure split into two panes for creating snippets from scratch and using templates.

In order to put together a new snippet, it's necessary to enter the header title, description, author and snippet type (e.g. expansion, surrounds with), along with the T-SQL script, which can be written from ground up, pasted from an external file, or dropped from an SQL script. The project can be saved to file (.snippet) by establishing the output directory and filename.

When it comes to templates, the software utility has preset code available for databases (create, drop, bring online, take offline), tables (add or drop table, create or drop table), indexes (create, rebuild or reorganize index, rebuild or reorganize all indexes in a table), and others (create linked server, get file locations for all databases, retrieve database file sizes or SQL server instance info).

Snippets Generator comes packed with approachable options to help you create T-SQL snippets for SQL Server 2012. CPU and RAM usage was minimal in our tests.
