Automatically applies the "Title" column for new documents in SharePoint.
SharePoint Document Auto Title is a handy and reliable SharePoint solution designed to transform and to streamline the task of applying the “Title” column to new uploaded documents. It does this by automating the fill in of the “Title” column for newly updated documents in SharePoint.
By utilizing XStream Software’s SharePoint Document Auto Title product, SharePoint users are removed from performing the tedious and time-consuming task of filling in the “Title” column when uploading a document.
The product allows the “Title” column to be automatically filled in with the filename of the uploaded document. In addition, by adjusting the product’s configuration settings, the auto fill can also include custom prefix and/or postfix text. This means that SharePoint users can realize the full benefits of document naming automation while still conforming to their organization’s document naming standards. Auto Fill the "Title" Column Immediately:
· XStream’s SharePoint Document Auto Title is the first event receiver-driven product that auto fills the “Title” column immediately. Other products adopt a less efficient approach to auto filling the “Title” column by forcing SharePoint Administrators to run timer jobs or workflows at scheduled intervals.
Install and Activate Only Where Needed:
· The XStream SharePoint Document Auto Title product has been built with SharePoint Administrators in mind. It allows SharePoint Administrators to specify exactly which SharePoint site collections and document libraries will utilize the capabilities of the product. In addition, for document libraries that have the Auto Title product capabilities activated, SharePoint Administrators can choose to turn these capabilities on or off at any time (without having to uninstall and reinstall the product). This granular level of control allows selected SharePoint web applications, site collections, and document libraries to be excluded from the benefits of the product where there is no need for its capabilities.
Custom Prefix and Postfix Text:
· The auto fill of the “Title” column does not have to be based only on the filename of the uploaded document. For maximum flexibility (and to conform to any document naming standard that may exist in your organization), the auto fill can also include custom prefix text (i.e., text appearing before the filename) and/or custom postfix text (i.e., text appearing after the filename). Additionally, a SharePoint Administrator can specify a list column (available from the document library) as part of the composition of the prefix and/or postfix text. When a list column is specified, its value will be included within the prefix and/or postfix text of the “Title” column when a document is uploaded.
Improved User Productivity:
· The XStream SharePoint Document Auto Title product relieves SharePoint users of the burden of manually filling in the “Title” column each time they upload a document to SharePoint.
