ActiveServer Component is a multi threaded ASP-compatible WEB server that can be embedded inside applications. It gives you an easy way to create the applications that are decentralized from the computer. You can use numerous HTML tools to create user interfaces that are visually appealing to the user.
The component is fully ASP and ASP.NET-compatible, and it is able to execute the ASP and ASP.NET files out of the box. The ASP object model is extendable, so you can introduce your own objects that will be visible from the ASP scripts.

Here are some key features of "ActiveServer Component":
· No dependencies. The component does not depend on any external file or service in order to process ASP requests. No IIS or PWS installation is necessary.
· Native ASP compatibility on every platform. The component executes ASP pages on PocketPC / Windows CE platforms.
· ASP.NET compatibility. The supported program, Catonet, executed every ASP.NET request in the same way as the worker thread on the IIS. This means that the component is 100% ASP.NET compatible, allowing execution of the new code base.
· 100% .NET compatible. The component can be used from any .NET language. In addition, the interop with a strong name is also provided.
· Superior performance and availability. The component implements scalable thread pool for its operation (independently of the hosting application), and it repeatedly outperform IIS server on a typical Windows platform.
· Watchdog. The component implements watchdog functionality - it enables external service to watch its correct functioning. Simple yet effective, this method can increase availability of the web service several times.
· Support virtual directories and multiple host identities. With the new component it is possible to host multiple site with one instance / one component.
· Windows NT Service operations. The new component can be used from Windows NT service programs.

Requirements:
· Processor: Intel Pentium or compatible; 300MHz or better; 1GHz+ recommended
· Memory: 32MB RAM; 256 MB RAM recommended
· Network TCP/IP network stack
· Internet browser: Internet Explorer 4.0 or later (for ASP engine / VBScript / JScript)
Limitations:
· It will not serve pages larger than 8Kb. The pages that are bigger are simply 'cut' to 8Kb.
· From time to time it will serve the DEMO page. Once in a while the DEMO page will remind the user to purchase a license for the component.
· When starting and stopping the ActiveServer component, the DEMO screen will be presented.
