SMS Yahoo! is a widget that will allow you to send text messages to mobile phones for free. You don't even need to have a phone at all!
It's free to send messages to the USA and Canada, and cheap to send messages worldwide.
The SMS widget has a built-in address book, so you can quickly select friends to contact. Long messages are automatically split into multiple parts.
You can include your mobile number or email as the reply address of your messages. This lets recipients reply to your SMS messages.
