Quick Flash Player provides you with a rather popular application that has been around for years. While its development was put to a halt some time ago, the application does not suffer from that particular fact as it only requires you to have Adobe Flash Player installed in order to play any given Flash video file.

In comparison to other Flash players, Quick Flash Player sits behind due to its SWF-only support. This can be seen as the most important drawback of its paused (or not) development. The lack of FLV support keeps it in the dark to say the least as well as yet another important aspect of any application nowadays: its interface.

It is certain that Quick Flash Player’s GUI could have been better. The overall impression is that it was made by a beginner, with all kinds of elements meant to charm you when, in practice, they are far from doing that.

Working with this particular application, you may find out that the biggest help comes from the two available context menus: one for the playlist, the other for the general functions. You can load single files, entire folders and even grab Flash movies from the Internet Explorer cache.

Although it has a fair number of features, their odd placement makes Quick Flash Player vulnerable when it comes to specific users asking for the important options to be placed in the main interface. On another note, almost every single functions has a hot-key for quick access.

Quick Flash Player could use some retouches here and there and that can really take it to the next level, where it is supposed to be. Its greatest problem is the ever-growing time span since its last update. Soon, though, as web technologies progress, we will find ourselves talking less and less about Flash and, inevitably, about Flash players.
