Xara Menu Maker 1.1

Xara Menu Maker is an application that lets you easily create buttons and menus for your website.

The interface of the program is plain and simple. You can get started by selecting a template design that you can modify.

So, you can edit text (e.g. change font style, position, size, letter space, aspect), colors and texture (select one of the predefined texture types or import an image as background; set texture style and angle).

But you can also adjust the size of the graphic, as well as its width and button width (e.g. each button's text controls its width, longest text controls all button widths).

Furthermore, you can configure button properties (e.g. on mouse off or mouse over, spacing) and menu settings (e.g. select font, direction, animation, transparency), as well as create submenus, add separators, copy the bitmap or file name to clipboard, create a style, undo all edits and view graphic information.

Once you have completed your project, you can export it to a GIF, JPEG or PNG file, preview it in the browser, select the file size (fast download, medium or high quality), and more.

The tool uses a moderate amount of system resources and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. Unfortunately, we weren't able to access the help file (clicking the option popped up an error).

In conclusion, Xara Menu Maker may not offer professional tools for web design, but it's definitely worth looking into. We strongly recommend it to all users, especially rookies.
