Alfresco Community

Alfresco Community is a free and open-source software application that you can use to manage files and share them with other people via the Internet.

First-time users can proceed with the default configuration that sets up all components, while advanced ones may exclude any of them: Java, PostgreSQL, SharePoint, Google Docs integration, and LibreOffice. What's more, it is possible to set up database and Tomcat port connection details.

Once installed, you can open a web browser to log into Alfresco. The dashboard let you examine information pertaining to your websites and activities, as well as to consult help documentation if necessary.

It is possible to create a list with multiple websites (public or private) in order to share content with other users and track down your activities, edit your profile by filling it with personal and business information, as well as sign up with an account (free) to upload data to a cloud service to be able to access it from any computer worldwide.

Alfresco Community lets users create and manage tasks and accounts for other users with access to the websites, explore the repository files and folders to analyze information and download any items, as well as create plain text, HTML, XML content, along with Google Docs documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

This software application has a lot of tools and customization preferences to offer, and they are intuitive enough to be figured out even by less experienced users. No error messages were shown in our tests, and the tool did not hang or crash. It runs on a low amount of CPU and RAM, so it shouldn't hamper system performance.
