Instant Eyedropper Portable

Instant Eyedropper Portable is a lightweight piece of software that allows you to grab the color code of any pixel on your screen so you can add it to your source code without too much hassle.

Since the application is portable, it does not require any setup and it entails decompressing the archive on the desired location on your hard disk. You can access the tool from the System Tray and define the format of the code as well as the resolution of the pixels.

As far as the format is concerned, you can grab the color code in HTML, RGB, VB Hex, Delphi Hex, Hex and Long. Regardless of the format you select, you can paste the code automatically to clipboard so that you can use it any text or HTML editor you are working with. On a side note, the application enables you to paste the code with various Color Picker tools of Photoshop as well.

Functionality-wise, the program is as simple to use as it looks. Grabbing the code for a specific color can be done by holding the left mouse button over the icon in System Tray and then moving the cursor to the desired location on the screen. If necessary, you can configure the app to display a message that the code is copied to clipboard.

It would have been useful if you could set a hotkey for this purpose, as dragging the cursor is inconvenient. It would have been nice if the program came with a magnifier tool so that you can grab colors with more precision.
