BatchEncoder is a streamlined piece of software that allows you to convert multiple audio files to a wide array of formats. The first thing you should know about this tool is the fact that it can handle almost any audio format you throw at it, including those with lossy and lossless compression. The tool represents a graphical interface for a bunch of command-line utilities, such as LAME MP3, SSRC and Musepack.

To get started, load the files from the Edit menu, choose the output format, and one of the available presets from the two drop-down menus in the upper part of the main window. Optionally, you can choose the output path from and the number of threads, from the app's bottom toolbar.

The overall conversion process is neatly displayed via a progress bar while the individual file conversion progress is displayed within the status section. One of the main highlights of this utility is the fact that it allows you to thoroughly configure both the formats and the presets. To access these section, head over to the Options menu.

What is more, from the same menu, you can also enable or disable a few more interesting features. For example, you can ask the app to automatically delete the source files or to shutdown when the conversion process is completed. You can also configure BatchEncoder to delete the output file or stop the conversion when encountering an error.
