LamedropXPd is a tool that can encode WAV and OGG files to MP3, as well as MP3 to WAV, in the simplest possible manner.
The software doesn't need to be installed, so it is portable. Your Windows registry entries will remain intact. But you can also place LamedropXPd on an external device and directly run the executable file on any computer.
The interface of the program consists of a small, squared window that you can move anywhere on the screen. So, you can add files by using the "drag and drop" method (batch conversion is supported).
If you open the context menu, you can configure encoding options, such as quality adjustment, bitrate, encoding engine quality (optionally enable mono encoding), as well as input scaling.
Furthermore, you can set the output directory (same as the original file or other) and set up tagging options (e.g. copy OGG comments, add the ID3V1 tag only, set custom options).
But you can also enable LamedropXPd to use automatic tagging, delete the input file after conversion, write errors in a log file and always be on top.
The program uses a very low amount of system resources and manages to complete a task in a short amount of time without popping up any errors and while maintaining a very good sound quality.
It doesn't contain a help file but that's because LamedropXPd is extremely simple to use, even by novices. The bottom line is that LamedropXPd provides one of the simplest solutions that we have ever seen for converting MP3, WAV and OGG files. We strongly recommend it to all users.
