WinMP3Shrink

WinMP3Shrink is an application that can help you free up space on your computer by reducing the size of your audio tracks. It supports several formats, including MP3, WAV and MP2.

This is a portable software, so installing WinMP3Shrink is not necessary. You can simply place it on a removable drive and directly run its executable file on any computer. What's more important is the fact that your Windows registry keys will remain unchanged.

The interface of WinMP3Shrink is clean and easy to navigate through. Audio files can be imported into the list by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is supported.

In the queue you can check out the source, bit rate, size and projected size of each file. Once you establish the destination folder and preferred bit rate, you can initiate the conversion process.

You can enable WinMP3Shrink to keep the ID3 tags and to notify when the target bit rate is higher than the source one, to copy audio data if the source and destination bit rates are equal and to automatically turn off the computer when all tasks are done, keep the file's date and time, change the interface language, and more.

The audio conversion tool requires a low amount of system resources and quickly finishes a task without freezing, crashing or popping up errors. We haven't come across any issues during our tests. The user has the possibility of sacrificing either the size or quality of the audio tracks, and the results are very good when you take these parameters into account. Too bad there is no help file available. Otherwise, we strongly recommend WinMP3Shrink to all users.
