StepVoice Recorder is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you record audio streams from any sound source, like microphone, line-in, audio/video playback, and Internet streaming. The audio streams are exported to MP3 file format.

You are welcomed by a small panel that embeds the recording controls directly in the main window. The GUI cannot be described as intuitive because some buttons are too small and it’s difficult to guess their exact function.

By default, StepVoice Recorder uses your configured sound device for the audio recording process. You can alter this setting by opening the system audio properties panel via the tool’s interface.

The application gives you the possibility to select the recording level for better quality. The level is displayed directly in the main window using the peak/wave visualization mode.
