MJ Studio is a software application that integrates standard functions for mixing audio tracks with the MP3 and WAV format.
After a brief and uneventful setup operation, you can configure sound settings at startup, namely select the output frequency, resolution and block size, along with the sound devices.
The interface is representative for disc mixing, having two MP3 decks on the upper part of the screen.
Audio files can be imported using the file browser or drag-and-drop support. The tool is also capable of browsing through all subdirectories of a location recursively for adding all found MP3s.
As far as effects are concerned, you can increase or decrease the pitch, adjust the volume level, configure an equalizer, scratch the decks by moving the mouse, disable the left or right deck, and other basic DJ mixing commands.
MJ Studio supports keyboard shortcuts and runs a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so it doesn’t affect the overall performance or the computer. It has a good response time and performs well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or show error messages.
Although it has not been updated for a long time, MJ Studio works properly on newer Windows editions. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, even novice uses can quickly figure out the application.
