Although we're not pretty sure that you're ready to abandon Winamp, iTunes or your favorite audio player, here's Spider Player, an application that could win the heart of users with the help of several well-developed features.

It's not too different from what we've seen in other audio players currently on the market, but Spider Player promises to impress with an amazing sound quality, a good looking interface and top-notch features.

And Spider Player does look good, that's pretty obvious, and in order to be sure every single user will like it, the application also comes with theme support, just like Winamp and many other audio players out there.

Plus, it supports transparency, but only comes with a single built-in skin beside the one that's being used as default.

As for the features, Spider Player has all the things you'd want from such an app. Playlists, a powerful equalizer, an advanced tag editor, lyrics editor, CD text support, multi-language support and even an audio CD ripper.

Just as expected, the application comes with support for m3u playlists, which means it can open the playlists generated by Winamp. Additionally, it supports most common audio formats in the world, including the popular MP3, M4A, MIDI, MP4,OGG, WAV and WMA.

The settings menu is the one that helps you have a look under its hood, letting you choose file associations, change the skins, enable or disable automatic download of lyrics, modify audio settings, set new hotkeys and configure Last.fm accounts.

The only issue we've experienced during our test concerns the web interface, as we couldn't get it work, although everything seemed to be okay in the settings menu. The web interface however was unaccessible from our browser.

So all in all, Spider Player slowly becomes one of the best audio players on the market, but work must continue on the project. It's already a five-star product so only the sky's the limit.
