AstoundSound Expander

AstoundSound Expander is a professional application whose main purpose is to enhance the way you listen to music, watch movies or play games in real time. This is possible by widening the stereo stream without altering the original sound.

The idea behind AstoundSound Expander is to improve the audio experience by performing a procedure that is called stereo expansion. This refers to a modification of monophonic audio signals, which optimizes significantly the manner in which sounds are heard.

Despite relying on such a sophisticated algorithm, the program is actually very simple to manipulate. This is mostly due to the intuitive and user-friendly interface, which provides only a few controls that will fine tune the sound outputted in your headphones or speakers.

There are three listening modes, each of them afferent to a different type of media, namely movies, music and games. This choice, together with the stereo expansion adjustments and the preamp level need to be made prior to engaging in the listening experience.

The stereo expansion parameter can be set between limits that are stated in the interface as ‘None’ (deactivates the engine) and ‘More’. Insofar as the preamp value is concerned, it can be specified anywhere between -3 dB and 3dB with a step of 1 dB.

AstoundSound Expander is a frontend for a versatile engine. The modifications in the sound quality are quite noticeable provided that the parameters are adjusted in the right amount.
