    WMP Tag Plus description

A handy Windows Media Player plugin

WMP Tag Plus was specially developed as an accessible and useful Windows Media Player plugin.

WMP Tag Plus is an extension that manages to add support for reading and writing tags of additional music formats like FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and WavPack.

WMP Tag Plus is a plugin that integrates seamlessly into Windows Media Player to provide library and tagging support for additional music formats. These formats include FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, WavPack, Monkey's  Audio, Musepack and MPEG-4.

After installing WMP Tag Plus, Windows Media Player puts songs of the newly supported formats into its media library, together with the tags these songs contain.

When editing the tags of these songs in the library, changes are saved back to file as well. This means that you can painlessly browse and organize songs of the newly supported formats in the library, just as you would for songs of natively supported formats like MP3 or Windows Media Audio (WMA).

In addition, WMP Tag Plus allows you to also use the Advanced Tag Editor to edit the tags for newly supported formats. Windows Media Player 12 lacks the Advanced Tag Editor, but there you can use the new tag editor of the Windows Media Player Plus! plug-in to get the same result.

WMP Tag Plus is currently the only Windows Media Player tag support plugin that is still up-to-date, actively supported and fully compatible with the latest versions of Windows and Windows Media Player.

Other tag support plugins don't allow seeking during playback of newly supported formats either. Seeking is no issue at all when using WMP Tag Plus.

    Requirements:

    · Windows Media Player 11 or higher.

    · New: support for reading/writing embedded album art in FLAC, Vorbis and MPEG-4 files.
    · New: library album art support for all formats. This also fixes the "Album art can't be changed when a song from the album is in use" error message when pasting album art in Windows Media Player 12's library.
    · New: Monkey's Audio (.ape) and Musepack (.mpc) tag support.
    · New: Apple Lossless (ALAC) support for Windows Media Player 12, allowing Apple Lossless .m4a files to be added to the Music section of the media library. Before this, Apple Lossless files were always added to Other media by Windows Media Player 12. Special thanks to John Lockwood for testing.
    · Note: Apple Lossless is still supported on older Windows Media Player versions too.)
    · New: Refresh song tags function. WMP Tag Plus can scan the library for untagged songs of the newly supported formats and re-add these songs to the library to refresh their tags, freeing the user from having to do this manually. This scan can be initiated from sett...
