There’s probably a song you heard once that you couldn’t find the name of. It’s a pain a lot of people share — wanting to know a song’s name so bad that you desperately scour the interwebs, but to no avail. There’s always Shazam, but what if the song is playing during a livestream and it’s not on speakers?

It would be great to have software that works on the internal audio of your computer and actually recognizes the song being played. Music Recognizer thus takes the spotlight with this — Shazam API, links to stream the song, plus a history list of the recently found music.

Using Music Recognizer is simple enough: boot up the app while a song is playing on your computer — from any source — click “Listen” and wait a few seconds. Music Recognizer will probably recognize your song. Now you know.

Upon recognizing a song, the app gives you the possibility to go to the tune’s Shazam page, or stream it through YouTube or Spotify.

Besides being able to use the internal audio of your machine to recognize a song, the program can also make use of a recording device connected to your PC, finding the music without fault.

There’s also a history list featuring the recently recognized tracks, allowing you to go back to them anytime. In addition to that, the app also has the capability of exporting that list in a .csv file so that you can inspect it more thoroughly.
