A computer is a multifunctional tool which brings a lot of practicality and enhances every domain of activity. Needless to say that this includes audio recording and editing, with an abundance of specialized tools in this regard. As such, InTune wants to help you fix freshly-recorded audio bits for clean instruments and vocal parts.
One particular advantage here is portability. What this means, on the other hand, is that you don’t have to go through a setup process to ensure functionality of the program. On the other hand, it can be easily carried around on a thumb drive just so you can use it on other computers other than your own, without affecting stability, because registry entries are not modified during runtime.
You start off in a blank interface, with the possibility to record on the spot, or work on an existing file. Note, however, that the application is only capable of processing WAV files, but there’s also the option to import, or generate SAS files, which represent audio file attributes. This saves you a great deal of effort, especially if you already have configuration files on your computer.
The recording component requires a connected microphone. There’s also the possibility to capture speaker sound, but for this to be possible you need to manually switch the default recording device to Stereo Mix. Down over in the audio device settings panel you can also adjust the output format, sample rate, bits per sample, channels, as well as output quality options.
In case you decide to work on a new recording session, the built-in component helps capture audio and display the waveform once this is done. Although there are no direct cut options, you do have the possibility to normalize audio levels, attempt to decrease noise levels, work on WAV and pulse range, and more.
All things considered, we can state that InTune is not really meant to be a multifunctional audio post processor, but it does help capture and prepare fresh recordings for thorough editing. It comes in a lightweight package, and might just be what you need to get clean sound from instruments and voice.
