MeloDroid description

Synchronize your iTunes playlist with your Android phone
MeloDroid lets you sync iTunes music to your Android device both wirelessly and over USB and use your Android device as a wireless remote for iTunes, and includes a ton of useful features. It's the ultimate iTunes sidekick.
MeloDroid acts as a server for the remote, and allows you to USB sync your Android phone with iTunes (including playlists). It's very easy to use and set up.
MeloDroid has some useful features in addition to this, such as the ability to disable iTunes services that you don't use (like Bonjour and iTunesHelper) and display Now Playing song notifications. You can also automatically shut down iTunes when it is not used, then quickly start it back up when you need it.
Here are some key features of "MeloDroid":
Minimalist Interface:
· The MeloDroid interface is merely an icon in your system tray, next to the clock, sound, etc. Clicking it opens the menu shown on the right, which contains your Now Playing information and gives you access to MeloDroid's features. The command buttons (Play, Next, Previous, etc) and QuickSearch were placed at the bottom for quick access, and added so you don't have to show the iTunes window.
· If you close iTunes, Quiet Mode is activated; MeloDroid's icon turns grey and some options are removed from the menu until iTunes is opened again.
USB Sync:
· MeloDroid allows you to sync your Android device with your iTunes music and playlists. You can choose to sync only the checked songs in iTunes. You can also enable multithreaded syncing to slightly improve the speed of copying your songs over. Android's music player should automatically recognize the playlists and add the songs to its music library.
· Tray Notifications;
· MeloDroid shows balloon notifications conveniently every time a new song plays, and while MeloDroid is wirelessly syncing with Android. You can choose to disable these in the Settings.
· QuickSearch;
· QuickSearch let's you quickly find a song without needing to show the iTunes window. Just type part of a song or artist name, and if there's only one match iTunes plays it. If there's more than one, the matches show up and clicking one plays the song.
Disable useless iTunes services:
· Ever wonder what the iTunesHelper service did, or want to shut down Bonjour since you don't use it? And when you close them, isn't it annoying that they just start up again? MeloDroid gives you the option to disable these and the iPod services, so you're back in control of what services run on your computer. And if you ever need them back, just uncheck the checkbox.
Quiet Mode:
· If you're not using iTunes but forget to close it, you can save system resources by automatically activating Quiet Mode, which shuts down iTunes and starts it up again when you need it. When Quiet Mode is activated, MeloDroid's icon turns grey.
Remove Broken Tracks:
· Do you have a bunch of tracks that you deleted, but forgot to remove from iTunes? Or maybe you moved your library over and some songs didn't copy, so you want to find out which songs those were. MeloDroid let's you find and remove broken tracks (the ones that show up with the "i" in the black circle next to the name; sometimes that symbol doesn't even show up).
Convert Tracks to MP3:
· Do you have a lot of songs that are in formats your Android music player won't support or play? MeloDroid let's you find these songs and converts them to MP3's, and gives you the option to delete the original copy if you don't want a bunch of duplicates in your library. (Note: this doesn't work for tracks that are DRM protected.)
