PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor 9.0 Build 129

An application that helps you get tapes, LPs, videos, live performances, or Internet radio onto CD.
Recording is the first step to creating an audio work of art. Various applications capable of capturing sound are available, amongst which is PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor. It's a powerful utility hidden behind a cleverly simple interface that promises to deliver quality easy and fast.

Get ahold of computer sound or recording devices

The application comes equipped with two tools that go hand in hand. A sound recorder is put at your disposal in a compact window with several sliders and adjustable options.

You can set both master volume and separately for each side, with a warning message in case it gets too loud. A drop down menu gives you the possibility to select the sound source, which can be any device connected to your machine with the given function or, as suggested, what you hear on speakers.

Moreover, quality can be set to mono or stereo for CD, FM radio and even telephone. In case you need the job done while away from keyboard, a scheduler gives you the possibility to set a start date and program it to stop after a given time with the option to automatically have the file saved to a given location.

Edit recorded sound and save the result

Once the first step is done, an editor is automatically brought up with the current recording. It too is kept as simple as possible, with everything in plain sight and advanced options cleverly organized in tabs.

A decent area displays the waveform and adjusting the window size makes it even clearer, even though zoom options are available. Basic tools to cut and apply a fade effect can be used. Additionally, advanced options give you the possibility to enhance sound with click and crackle filter, noise filter, as well as an equalizer and a couple more.

In case a recording is too long, an integrated function allows you to cut it into multiple tracks either by using a silence detector, as well as specifying the number.

Choosing to save your work lets you set, besides the destination folder and name, the quality with a large variety of frequency and bitrate options.

In conclusion

To sum it up, PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor is not necessarily a visually appealing application, but when it comes to audio options it truly shines. The help manual pops up every step of the way so that you don't make any unwanted modifications, and given functions make sure the result is flawless.
