Sofonesia MP3 Clipper and Joiner
Sofonesia MP3 Clipper and Joiner gives users the possibility of cutting and merging audio tracks with the MP3 format, as the name says. It packs standard options that do not require special experience in this field.
After a brief and uneventful setup procedure, you are greeted by a standard window with a neatly organized layout, where you can import an MP3 file for cutting using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop functionality is not featured.
The selected song automatically starts playing in a built-in audio player, but you can pause the stream or use a slider to seek a particular position (it shows the current frame location accurately). Once you enter a start and end frame position, you can save that piece to file by establishing the target folder and file name.
The MP3 joiner is quite simple to deal with, as you only have to point out the file path to two audio tracks. Unfortunately, you cannot merge more than two songs at the same time. There are no other options provided by this tool. For example, you cannot make the app automatically open the target folder on task completion.
Sofonesia MP3 Clipper and Joiner requires a pretty high amount of CPU and RAM, considering its limited abilities, even when it's in idle state. It has a good response time, carries out a joining or merging job rapidly, and delivers the original sound quality to the output items.
No error notifications have been shown in our evaluation, and the utility did not hang or crash. However, its lack of additional options and configurable settings makes the app less appealing to advanced users. We must also take into account that Sofonesia MP3 Clipper and Joiner has not been updated for a long while.
