Soundplant

Soundplant is a comprehensive application that enables you to convert your computer keyboard into a sample-triggering device, without you having to install additional devices or MIDI.

The program works by assigning audio files (of any size or format) to each of the seventy two keys on your keyboard, that you can then use to give live performances, make presentations, or mix tracks. It can also prove effective in playing songs during a show or remixing digital sound samples.

Soundplant can work with as many sounds as you offer it, by simply drag and dropping an audio file onto the corresponding key. If multiple files are dropped at the same time, they are assigned successively on the keyboard.

You can set a 'Channel Priority' for each key, with 'Low', 'Norm' and 'High' being the available options. While the 'ESC' key has a silencing function, that stops all playing sounds, the 'Backspace' will silence all keys except those set as 'High Channel Priority'.

Moreover, you have several options that can be used to adjust the pitch, offset, looping, panning, fading or volume, as well as the way in which a sound can be triggered. Each individual keyboard configuration can be saved and reused at a later time.

Due to the fact that each key is assigned a single sound, you can prevent the occurrence of complications, especially during a live performance. Since Soundplant only requires your computer keyboard to function, this makes it quite easy to use in all kinds of situations, sparing you from having to work with or carry around various devices.
