TagRunner is a simple-to-use program that enables you to add ID3 tags, cover art and lyrics to your favorite songs. It supports several audio formats, such as WMA, MP3, M4A and MP4, and targets all types of users, regardless of their skill level.
The interface of the application is represented by a standard window with a plain layout, where you can load files into the list using either the file browser, folder view (standard or recursive) or "drag and drop" function. Batch processing is supported, so you can add as many audio tracks as you want.
The file queue shows the name and total amount of files for each item. You can enable TagRunner to look for files with missing tags only, cover art and lyrics. But you can also set the options to write cover art pictures or lyrics additionally as extra JPG and TXT files, respectively. As far as the tagging language goes, you can select English, German, or both.
Furthermore, you can choose the search performance mode between Quick, Balanced and Exhaustive, allow differences in the title and artist names, as well as merge original and Internet tags, and update online sources.
TagRunner includes a help file and carries out tasks rapidly while using a low-to-moderate quantity of CPU and system memory, hence it doesn't affect the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time to commands and works well, without hanging, crashing or showing error dialogs. On the downside, TagRunner has not been updated for a pretty long while.
