Luminance HDR is a compact Windows application designed to help users open, create, and edit HDR images.

It sports a clean and straightforward layout that gives you the possibility to add files by simply dragging and dropping them into the primary panel or using the built-in browse function.

Luminance HDR works with the following file formats: JPG, TIFF, CRW, NEF, DNG, MRV, DCR, and others.

The application offers step-by-step assistance throughout the creation process of new HDR images, and this approach comes in handy especially for less experienced users, as they can learn to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort.

What’s more, you can preview the photos in a dedicated pane, adjust the image exposure value pretty easily, thanks to its built-in slider, auto-align photos, and apply auto-cropping options.

Luminance HDR comes packed with several dedicated tools designed to give you a hand when it comes to zooming in or out of the photos, viewing a histogram, changing the size, and using a brush and eraser.

Other important features worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to rotate the images to different angles, alter the color saturation and pre-gamma values, change the size, apply noise reduction effects, as well as adjust the black and white levels.

Last but not least, you can work with multiple tabs at the same time and save the edited photos to JPEG, PNG, PPM, PBM, or BMP file format, as well perform batch operations.

During our testing we have noticed that the tool accomplishes a task very quickly and provides excellent image quality. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.

To sum it up, Luminance HDR proves to be a reliable application that bundles a decent pack of features that can meet the requirements of advanced users.
