Microsoft Photo Info 1.0
Microsoft Photo Info allows photographers to add, change and delete common "metadata" properties for digital photographs
In the pure Microsoft way, the design is well-organized and clean, thus making everything a breeze for all user categories, be they beginners or more advanced.
In fact, the whole idea behind the program is more or less simple: it all comes down to inputting information on the selected image files.
In order to launch Microsoft Photo Info, users need to select one or more image files in Windows Explorer, press the right button of the mouse and hit the “Photo Info” option.
The tabbed layout of the app lets you edit description, keywords, origin, advanced settings and details, each of these items coming with its very own fields to be filled in.
“Description” for example requires title, author, copyright and URL, while “Origin” concerns the location of the photo, such as city, state or province, country and sublocation. The “Advanced” tab comprises info such as credit, source, headline, instructions and urgency.
As you can see, Microsoft Photo Info is a pretty easy to use piece of software and it only works on 32-bit versions of Windows XP. It cannot be launched on Windows 7 and this would be more like a waste of time given the fact that the revamped Windows Explorer of this particular operating system version lets you edit image properties on the go.
All things considered, Microsoft Photo Info may attract the attention of a handful of users, but it can be installed exclusively on Windows XP, which makes it more or less appropriate for older workstations.
