Short videos have gained a lot of popularity and are preferred over other types of media almost everywhere you look. Still, images continue to play a crucial role in online communication, branding, storytelling, and user engagement.

Image editing and design tools like PicPick remain relevant and valuable for individuals and businesses looking to create visually appealing and engaging content in various online and offline channels.

The app packs a modern interface, and you can get started by selecting the type of task you want to engage with. I chose a canvas from scratch, so I had to select the size and background first, and I was free to add anything I wanted on my canvas afterward.

The program provides essential features for annotating, cropping, resizing, and applying basic effects to images, so frankly it would work great with educators, small businesses, and individuals who require basic image editing capabilities without the complexity and cost associated.

A feature that I particularly like is that you can take pictures of your computer screen in many different ways. You can capture the whole screen, just one window, or a specific part that you choose.

It even lets you grab long web pages that you can scroll through, or draw a shape around what you want to capture. This makes it easy to capture images, documents, and web pages exactly the way you want them.

Compared to similar tools I tried out, PicPick serves as a straightforward tool for occasional image editing. In comparison to Adobe Suite applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, the app lacks certain advanced functionalities such as advanced layering, masking, retouching, and typography tools, which cater to the complex requirements of professional designers and artists.
