Active Pixels is a professional software application that helps users enhance the quality of their images by applying several editing operations.

What’s more, you can undo or redo your actions, perform basic editing operations (cut, copy, paste, delete), and manually configure the cropping parameters or enable the automatic mode.

You are also allowed to perform batch operations when it comes to applying auto-correction options, flipping or rotating the photos to different angles, converting images, and resizing them.

Other notable characteristics bundled in this tool let you adjust the levels of brightness, contrast, saturation, and lightness, enable the auto-correction mode, rotate the pictures to different angles, work with multiple layers, view a histogram, and apply special effects (e.g. sharpen, noise, sepia).

On the downside, the program hasn’t been updated for a while, so it may cause compatibility issues on newer operating systems. It provides very good image quality but it stresses up the CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer may be burdened.
