Softpedia Editor's Review for JPEG Resampler
|
Resample all JPG images in the specified directory and store the results in target directory
Written by Elena Opris on April 5th, 2012
JPEG Resampler is a program which enables you to resize your JPEG files in several methods.
The interface of the application is based on a standard window in which you can toggle between compact and advanced mode.
Pictures can be imported by using the file browser or "drag and drop" method (batch processing is supported).
So, you can resample to filesize (in kB), resolution, percent of original, exact or maximum width and height, carbon copy, and others.
Furthermore, you can apply effects, such as sharpen, blur, soften, Gaussian, trace contour, negative and emboss.
In addition, you can select the resampling filter (bicubic, bilinear, nearest), color format and, optionally enable JPEG Resampler to automatically rotate images.
But you can also configure format settings when it comes compression, prefilter, layer, quality and others, generate an HTML file, convert file names, process metadata, add an image or logo, add text to the result, retrieve GPS coordinates, as well as create presets.
Moreover, you can enable JPEG Resampler to turn off the computer when the task is completed and to integrate in the Explorer shell extension, sort images in a few ways (e.g. date of modification or creation, file name), set the maximum number of threads, and more.
The program requires a low amount of system resources and quickly finishes tasks without freezing, crashing or popping up errors. We haven't come across any issues during our tests. Except for the fact that JPEG Resampler's interface is outdated and that there is no help file available, we recommend this tool to all users.
