Personalization of the computer can affect a lot of different areas, including your mouse pointer. These can be both static, and animated picture sequences, with an abundance of creations found online. However, applications like JustCursors help you build your own, in an intuitive canvas, with simple drawing tools.

A cool advantage is that the application skips you the whole effort of going through a setup process, thus giving you the possibility to work on your custom cursors directly from a USB flash drive on other computers besides your own. Moreover, the way it functions doesn’t modify registry structure, thus keeping the PC clean.

Launching the application brings up a pretty simple canvas, fitted with a grid for more accuracy in your design, and an associated toolbox. The application allows you to create both static, and animated cursors, which in return generate files either under the CUR, or ANI formats.

The drawing process is the same, regardless of the type of cursor you want to create. By default, the canvas is fitted with a transparent layer, on which you’re free to draw points, lines, boxes, and circles, either empty or filled, with options to change the color, or size of the pen. Creating a new project, lets you pick the color range, and size of the cursor, with a bigger size, meaning higher quality.

Choosing to create an animated cursor brings up an additional animation pane to help with frame management. You can specify the number of frames, whether or not they’re sequenced, and a field through which you modify the frame rate count of each frame. Saving is done under default formats, and you can also load existing items to edit, or create alternate versions.
