Vextractor is a vectorizer program for transforming raster images into vector formats by building centerlines and outlines.
Vextractor could be used for the vectorizing photo, logotypes and other line art images for use in Vector Graphics Design software. You can also vectorize charts, drawings, maps and schemes for input to CAD or GIS systems.
Here are some key features of "Vextractor":
· Create centerlines and outlines
· Arcs and circles recognition
· Orthogonal lines recognition
· Polylines smoothing
· Edge detection
· Vector editor
· Smart trace method for passing polylines crossings
· Input raster formats: BMP, GIF, TIFF/GeoTIFF, JPEG, PCX, TGA, PNG, WBMP, ICO, RAS, PBM, PGM, PPM
· Raster image noise filtration
· TWAIN32-compatible scanners support
Output formats for vector information:
· AutoCAD DXF and DXB
· Windows Metafiles WMF and EMF
· ArcView shapefiles (SHP)
· MapInfo MIF/MID
· ASCII XYZ simple text format
· Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG)
· Encapsulated PostScript (EPS)
· Coordinate referencing
· Input Z-values (elevation)
Requirements:
· Pentium III
· 128 Mb RAM
Limitations:
· Limited output in vector formats
· Watermark signs added
What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]
· New options for SVG vector format
· Now polygones output has two topology modes: stacking polygones or tile polygones
· In stacking mode polygones will be written in pyramidal stack (without holes), the small overlapping polygones over the large polygones
· In the tile mode the polygone, overlapped by small ones, will be written with the appropiate holes in the body
