The advantages of being portable
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to create greeting cards on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
GUI and supported file formats
You are welcomed by a clean and simple layout that is quite poor in configuration settings. The tool was designed with an overall simplicity in mind, so tweaking the dedicated parameters proves to be a piece of cake.
It works with the JPEG and PNG file format and allows you to add files in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support.
Creating greeting cards
Card Creator gives you the possibility to choose between three different greeting card templates. Each template can be edited using your favorite photos.
What’s more, you can make use of the drag-and-drop support in order to make the selected picture fit the template and export the generated greeting card to JPEG or PNG file format. There’s no support for undo/redo functions and delete button but you can upload another picture in order to replace an existing one.
Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to work with this program, even less experienced users can master the entire operation in no time. During our testing we have noticed that Card Creator carries out a task very quickly and provides good output results. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on the system resources, so it doesn’t hamper computer performance, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
Where it falls short
On the downside, the tool doesn’t offer support for advanced features that could help you embed personalized text messages, choose between a large collection of templates, and insert different geometrical figures (e.g. ellipses, rectangles), just to name a few suggestions.
All in all, if you are looking for a straightforward piece of software for helping you create greeting cards, you may give Card Creator a try and see what it can do for you.
