Change dpi

One of the parameters by which you can measure the quality of a picture (if not the most important), is the file's DPI (dots per inch). In simpler terms, it is the density of pixels, in particular, the number of individual dots that can be placed in a line within the span of 1 inch. Logically, the more DPI a picture has, the less pixelated it will seem. However, the more DPI it has, the more disk space the file will occupy, sometimes without any visual advantages. Change dpi is an ultra-lightweight software tool meant to adjust the DPI of an image without actually changing the resolution.

As mentioned before, the app is considerably lightweight, having a UI comprised of nothing more than a button that prompts you to browse for the location of the image you want to edit. Once a valid image has been found, you can then proceed to input the desired height and width of the picture, and then choose to save the image in one of the two supported formats: JPG and JPEG.

Given the limitations posed by the app's portable nature, it doesn't benefit from any complex algorithms that may allow you to increase a picture's DPI, just decrease it. In essence, the app can be especially useful when you are trying to resize images, such as those you may want to turn into icons shortly.

Change dpi may not be a leading graphics editor, but the only thing it manages to do, it does well, making it great for those who just want to modify an image's DPI without filling their PCs with mammoth graphics editing suites.
