If you're looking for an application that can resize GIF files and you aren't willing to use one of the full-featured photo editors out there, GiF Resizer is one possible solution.
The programs was developed with a single goal in mind, to allow users resize GIF files with minimum effort, so you shouldn't encounter too many problems when trying to resize an image.
All configurable parameters are grouped right in the main window, which means that users don't have to waste too much time setting up the resizing task.
Just input the path to the source GIF file, configure the output parameters and you are done. Besides picking the output folder, you can also select width and height, force the app to keep aspect ratio and enable a so-called good quality.
There are no other settings to play with, which is clearly good news for beginners, but otherwise this could very well disappoint lots of professional users.
As you can see, GiF Resizer doesn't support batch resizing, which is actually one of the main drawbacks, so users are forced to resize one picture at a time.
On the good size, it doesn't hamper system performance and works smoothly on all Windows versions, obviously without the need for administrator privileges on Windows 7 workstations.
All things considered, GiF Resizer is an interesting project that needs plenty of updates to attract more users. It can quickly resize a single GIF file, but otherwise it remains a very basic piece of software.
