Creating slideshows not only gives you the possibility to store your favorite photos in a visually appealing way, but can also greatly enhance presentations and projects. This can be done in various ways with the help of applications, amongst which is found ProShow Standard. With an intuitive interface and various tools to work with, it promises to deliver a stunning result.

Running the application brings up a workspace similar to most video editing applications. This is a plus, because an implemented timeline lets you arrange photos and time them perfectly and the preview section offers visual support throughout the creation process.

Unfortunately, you can only make use of one layer, but the application allows you to add a background image to every slide and you can “cheat” this way. Pressing “Tab” on your keyboard switches the timeline view to a slide list for a faster management.

Transition effects can also be added to offer a unique feel when the next photo comes along. There is a decent library of presets to choose from, and once applied, it can be easily timed.

In order to make every slideshow unique, an implemented editor gives you the possibility to adjust any imperfections in the image. Text can be inserted with custom font, size and color with no limitation to the amount of captions.

Several options let you adjust the background, and along with the above mentioned editing functions, they can be applied to slides individually.

A music file can be added and trimmed, have the volume adjusted and set to fade in or out. If editing options provided don't suffice, an implemented function lets you add custom applications to be launched through the main window, for more and better post processing possibilities.

To sum it up, ProShow Standard makes slideshow creation look like child play. The user interface is cleverly design to get timing just right and an abundance of transition effects further enhance the visual experience. Overall, it's a practical and easy to use application.
