RAW - JPEG Stream Extractor 2.0
Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run.
Another possibility is to save RAW - JPEG Stream Extractor to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
Most importantly, it does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving no traces behind after its removal.
Simple interface and options
The main app window has a plain and simple structure and shows all options available. You can add RAW files to the list using either the file browser or folder view, and either keep EXIF information or delete it when extracting the JPG images. Batch processing is supported, which means you can extract JPGs from multiple RAW photos at once to reduce the entire workload. It is possible to save the JPGs from all files or just selected ones. There are no other noteworthy options available here.
Evaluation and conclusion
The app does not put a strain on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Extraction jobs are finalized pretty quickly. Although RAW - JPEG Stream Extractor does not integrate rich features and its interface is not much to look at, the tool serves its purpose.
