Reflet is a lightweight and simplistic piece of software which allows you to apply a reflection effect to your images, turning them into animations. You can use this app to to prepare animated presentations for websites, for instance.
This is a portable application, so Reflet does not come with an installation package. It means that you can store the app on a USB flash drive or any other removable device, save it to any computer and directly run its executable file.
Therefore, you can always have Reflet with you when you're on the move. Plus, the Windows Registry is not updated with new entries and no leftover files can be found on the hard drive after program removal.
The app is wrapped in a plain and uncomplicated interface where you can load an image by using only the file browser, since the 'drag and drop' method is unsupported. Unfortunately, you cannot process multiple items at the same time.
So, you can establish the number of images used to make up the animation along with the height, as well as pick the perspective or regular view. In addition, you can select the speed between slow, medium and fast, and apply short, medium or long waves.
Once the project is done, you can export it to an animated GIF, AVI clip, JPG or BMP sequence, as well as set the color count and save only the reflection, or the original image as well.
The image processing program runs on a pretty low amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't be a concern for the computer's resources. It has a good response time, quickly saves an animation and delivers files with a good image quality. We have not encountered any problems during our testing; Reflet did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. Although the application packs limited features, these can be seamlessly put to use, even by inexperienced individuals. No recent updates have been made.
