Knoll Light Factory
Knoll Light Factory is a straightforward and reliable plugin that seamlessly integrates within Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Premiere Pro. It helps you to add realism to your movie scenes and pictures by flaring or fading the light as it passes through a scene. Since it works in 3D space, you can move and synchronize the flares as well.
Because it comes with various effects created by lens flares such as ‘Star Filter’, ‘Glow Ball’, ‘Poly Spike’ and ‘Basic Spotlight’, to name a few, Knoll Light Factory enables you to essentially create your own lights from scratch and even adjust the default ones according to your whims.
After creating a new composition and adding a new layer, you are able to add the image or video sequence you want to modify. The plugin will become available immediately in the Effect menu.
Hence, you are able to modify the light source location, the obscuration type to ‘RGB’, ‘Alpha’, ‘RGB+Apha’, ‘Inverse Alpha’, ‘Luminance’ and ‘Inverse Luminance’ and the brightness, color and angle of the lens. Next, you can use the ‘Lens Editor’ (which can be accessed through the Options menu) and work with presets such as ‘Elliptical Caustic’, ‘Random Fan’, ‘Chroma Hoop’, ‘Aperture Reflection’, ‘Sparkle’, ‘Rectangular Spread’ and more. However, you can create your own unique lighting effects if the built-in elements don’t satisfy your demands.
Additionally, Knoll Light Factory enables you to modify the inner and the outer color, the noise position, type and scale, the ring size, softness and brightness and the Ramp Gamma.
Since it comes with a sharp and clean look, the plugin comes in handy for movie directors and motion graphic artists who need to make their composites look real.
To conclude, Knoll Light Factory comes with intuitive and stunning light elements that help you to build your lens flare in an easy way, thus emulating real-life lenses and lights.
